Thursday, November 14, 2013 - Ruby color with clear rim. Nose: whortleberry, strawberry compote, and raspberry with accents of cinnamon, star anise, rose petal, pine, and orange peel. Medium/lighter body on the palate: whortleberry, cranberry, and raspberry framed by allspice, licorice root, rose tea, pine, and pink peppercorn. Medium+ acidity. Moderate tannins. Lingering licorice root, cranberry skin, and pink peppercorn on the long finish. Excellent flavor concentration with a graceful frame. Gorgeous spice accents. Has the structure to develop further over the mid-term. Drink over the next 3-4 years.
