Monday, January 5, 2015 - Deep ruby and very floral on the nose, this Zinfandel offers up aromas of lavender, black raspberries, black pepper and underbrush. Full-bodied, fresh and with medium-weight, fine-grained tannins, it serves up flavors on the palate which mirror the aromas on the nose. The listed alcohol (16.1%) is what one would expect from a fortified wine...yet it somehow goes unnoticed! Solid in the middle and long on the finish, this is yet another impressive Turley offering. I am not quite sure how they pull this off, but it is nothing short of brilliant. Drink now-2017.
