Friday, September 2, 2011 - Tasted just after a 76 DRC G-E which was very good, but tiring. Also just after a 76 de Vogue Bonnes Mares, supposedly a terrible period for the domaine, but actually a pretty good wine. But the DRC Ex was way more refined, in tertiary phase of course, lots of coffee/animale on the nose backed by perfumed sweet fruit and some earthiness. Soft & ripe. I love 76s, but this was suprisingly good, great balance, delicious. And on the evidence of this bottle, still very much alive.
