Saturday, June 13, 2009 - This bottle was perfect in all respects. Interestingly, it completely outclassed the last bottle we tried from the same vintage last year. This was the dictionary definition of a perfectly aged Bordeaux. Huge nose of dark red fruits with all the earthy characteristics one would expect from a top-notch left-banker from a stellar vintage. Perfectly balanced on the palate with muted tannins and an elegant profile. Tremendous finish. This was just light-years beyond the last bottle I tried. I hope it portends good things for the two or three I have left.
