Saturday, May 4, 2013 - Nice bottle. Seemed a little thin tonight, quite light. Very classic Pauillac nose. Probably needs to be consumed soon, although still seems to have some legs.

    Looking at your other tasting notes, I'd figure that are just used to enjoying great wines at a younger stage of their evolution and also that generally have a significantly higher alcohol content. Nothing wrong with that, but a 1989 Lalande is just more subtle in its charms....... frankly, I think it has another 20 years ahead of it but obviously it has gone beyond the fruit-driven primary stage. Anyway, all I'm saying is that one can learn to really love good wines of this age (the 1985 Bordeaux's are my sweet spot at the moment).
