90 Points

Monday, December 24, 2012 - Deeply aromatic with androgenous black and blue fruits, licorice, minerals and a VERY subtle Brett note that adds old-world leather and menthol notes that make the nose that much more complex and appealing. Medium body with lots of red fruit and crushed old cellar brick. While there is some sweetness of cherry and licorice on the palate, it is not at all candied and stays lively and enjoyable with big tannins that dry the mid but leave a melting impression of earth at the same time. How do they do that?
