Saturday, June 11, 2011 - Purchased in '04. Blackberry juice in the glass, good concentration fading slightly to rim. Nose is very numb, a bit of dark fruits, no obvious Malbec traits on display. Full bodied in the mouth, slightly hot, some fleshy cherry fruit and oak but the typical perfume seems to be long gone, and no signs of tannins either. A long, slightly non-descript finish with oak prevailing. Pity. I had hoped these Catena wines would keep better but good lesson for the future. Decent value and interesting as an experiment, but drink whatever you have left asap.
