92 Points

Thursday, March 19, 2015 - A few bottles on a Thursday (Toronto, ON): I really like this style. Perhaps just a bit ripe, dark and primary for me today, there is huge potential. It pours a dark with a nose of dark cherry, purple flowers, blackberry, leather, brown spices and rosemary. You can tell this is built to develop into a savoury wine and is just a tad primary today. Enjoyable to check in to see where it's at, but will surely be at it's best in 10+ years. The palate is deeply fruited with moderate tannin and acid finishing medium plus in length. Certainly a bit on the rich side for this producer. Maybe just a bit below 92 for me today, but I have not doubt it will achieve that level.
