Sunday, November 25, 2012 - Decanted for a couple of hours. Bright purple color, really pretty. Pepper and spice on the nose at first, some dark fruit as it evolved. Prunes, tart cherries and white pepper on the palate. More dark fruit and complexity as it took on air in the glass. A lot of grip - I've never used that word before in a note, but this wine coated and held the palate. Very complex, with a medium-long finish. Paired with a spicy dish. The food was somewhat of a disappointment, we need to work on the spices. The wine was terrific, made up for the food let-down.
