Sunday, July 24, 2016 - This wine continues to improve. Double decanted about 2 hours before serving and served with grilled venison backstrap which was perfectly cooked. While the nose is still somewhat closed in, there are plums and blackberries on the nose and initial flavors and the tannins are beginning to mellow and are much less noticeable. Good length. I think this wine is approaching its drinking window and should be good for at least another 5 years or so.
