Thursday, March 14, 2013 - Guessed blind. This has that Evening Land smoke and iodine on the nose with amazingly vibrant acidity and a lighter feel than previous vintages. Lime, gunpowder, apple and charred pineapple (maybe?). There is a lot hidden on the nose, ready to open with time in bottle. The palate is lacy and delicate, like a non-dosage Champagne but powers through to a really, long citrus finish. There is a lot of pop here and I can really feel this wine's potential. The length and finish are really what define this wine's quality. Nicely done. This should be fun in 8-10 years.
