Sunday, September 2, 2012 - Decanted one hour. Purple Black. Big black fruits on the nose - cassis, blackberry and... fig? Smoked & cured meats. Some forest floor. Great Acidity. Still feels very young and a touch sweet. Finish is medium length. A slight bit of alcohol burn. Definitely complex but, disappointly, not spectacular. Paired with grilled marinated skirt steak and roasted vegetables. This is ready to drink. Maybe another year or two to peak.
