Saturday, March 29, 2014 - Intense concentration of flavours, but lighter bodied and fresher than other 1990s Dominus. Bold but not over-ripe. Perfect balance between sweet, round plum and edgy black current with a big dollop of oak spice. Tobacco, a bit of cacao, and significant vegetal notes on the mid-palate. Bright, lively acidity. The tannins have mellowed and integrated to the point where there is no chewiness, just a little dustiness on the palate on the finish. Lingering complex finish. Delicious. 1995 goes under the radar for Dominus, which is OK by me. Hopefully it will keep the price down so I can buy more.
