Thursday, June 18, 2015 - Finished the night with a 375 ml bottle of a classic Sauternes Chateau from a hot vintage. This was paired with a rhubarb cobbler and vanilla ice cream. While not foie gras, the dessert was actually a nice compliment to the wine. Classic notes of apricot, orange peel, with a touch of almond. Based on the deep golden color, I suspect the 2003 Sauternes are on a faster evolutionary tract than most other vintages. Delicioso!
