Friday, November 15, 2013 - The first smell and sip are a shock to the senses in a good way. A bit of a kick in the mouth but lots of big flavor and good spice. After it opened, it's fruit forward w/ a little dried apricot on the nose. Tannins on the sides of the tongue, a little jammy in the middle and peppery on the finish. We enjoyed this but it would have been better with a heavier meal. All in all a good wine, similar to mazzoni home ranch from ridge. Enjoyed it a lot though and a good one to try if you like bigger wines.
