Monday, September 21, 2015 - Popped and poured, youthful purple/ruby. Intriguing nose shows black raspberry, cherry, fresh cilantro, iron, earthy funk and subtle hints of black licorice. Seems to become more red-fruited as it aerates. Medium body, nice concentration. Such an expression of earthy, somewhat saline minerals and crushed stones on the palate...and while there's decent fruit underneath, it's the encapsulated purity of transparent terroir that defines this lovely wine. That said, this is still just a baby and there's a substantial chalkiness of tannins on the persistent close. Drink now with a decent amount of air, better to hold for 3-5+ years (if not a decade longer).
