My first Insignia. We don't get a lot of American wines here so this was exciting for me to taste something had lots of brand equity to its name.

When i approached the tasting table, the bottle they had first opened had just poured its last drop, so I had to taste from a freshly opened bottle that had barely two minutes of breathing and swirling in my glass, so do take note.

Nose: As expected being fresh from a just opened bottle, a tight nose. Giving off slight amounts of vanilla and graphite with loads of concentrated fruit that was rather appealing

Taste: A very big wine, big tannins. Notes of a rich Christmas fruitcake, vanilla and cherries were detected. This would have to breathe for a couple more hours. But even at this stage I could see the high quality and skill that was put into this wine. It's just the price that scares me.
