Tuesday, May 3, 2011 - Off hand, as expected, the wine was still very tight and was slow to reveal its flavors. The nose had dark berry and currant aromas with hints of cocoa. Structure is very focused, firm, rich and concentrated all the way to the very end. Flavors of dark berries comprise the core surrounded by chocolate, graphite, olives, and oak. The longer it stays in the glass the nose becomes more ethereal and really special. Espresso, perfumed berries, black tea eventually unravel. If you can't wait, give an hour to decant. Otherwise, drink from 2014 to 2030.
