Sunday, October 7, 2012 - Popped n poured; consumed over 3 hours. Unlike the ’08 vintage that took 5 hours to deliver the goods, this juice was open for business early in the evening; after about hour 1 in the decant. There is one heck of a concentrated nose on this baby. An in-your-face, rich, ripe blackberry, vanilla, and cinnamon baking spice that rivals some of the best that I have had in the area. Dare I say even slightly superior to the fantastic ’08. I think the ’09 vintage must have done wonders for the heavily weighted merlot/syrah part of this blend. Dense and powerful; this juice should see its peak window between 2015 – 2021.
