Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - This medium garnet wine was Vinturi-decanted and serially tasted over the ensuing 2-3 hours. The nose shows moderately intense aromas of cherry, balsamic and earth. Light-to-medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, light supple tannins and well-integrated alcohol (which is listed as 13%). The flavors mirror the nose, although the dirt/earth component steps to the forefront. The middle palate is lacking and the short-to-medium finish lacks intensity. This wine was certainly "serviceable" when served with pasta Bolognese, but in no way will it be memorable. Drink now-12/15.

7/18/2013 2:28:00 AM - Funny, just realized your note mirrors the same sentiment I expressed via my tasting note. Or, since you wrote your note first, does that mean my note mirrors yours? Either way, enjoyed reading some of your notes. I'm in San Diego, and since wine is meant to be shared, feel free to invite me over anytime you open a nice bottle. P.S. My idea of a nice bottle isn't an 09 Banfi Chianti Classico Riserva.. just saying.
