Sunday, January 10, 2016 - Seems like a wine made from very ripe fruit, heavily extracted. I'm at the middle of a case opened and tasted periodically over the past 3 years. At this point, the wine appears to be in a state of significant transition where it is fairly rapidly depositing or polymerizing it's ripe and dusty, bordering on dirty, tannins. I too find a lack of sufficient acidity to balance this wine and potentially carry it through to the resolution of these significant tannins. Fruit is there but muted, round and bordering on overripe. We shall see. For now, I am less optimistic than at the point 2 years ago when I bought up numerous bottles of the 2010 vintage. Hopefully this will clarify into a sublime bottling given a decant off the sediment, but certainly not now.
