Friday, March 14, 2014 - This was actually drinking great from the moment I popped the cork, which is not to say that it was showing much fruit, more like leather, dusty soil, a hint of brett, but that's what I want in a Brunello, anyway. Very aromatic, full of warmth and breadth, though again not fruity at all. This is really really solid, everything's just where I want it. It has volume, too, perhaps partly a result of the 14% but that isn't felt on nose or palate. Very old-school and charming.

6/25/2014 7:25:00 PM - what is the drinking window on these. I know the vintage is ripe, but I also know this is a very good producer that is underrated, and I have tasted some wonderful older bottles.

6/26/2014 6:57:00 AM - Honestly, I'm not sure. I feel like it could go another 10 years, just bc it's so traditional and feels balanced around its vibrant acidity. The warmth of the vintage is only felt in the breadth or volume of flavor, there are no overripe or muddled qualities to the fruit. It's very solid and sure of itself, so I wouldn't worry about keeping it.
