Saturday, October 22, 2011 - Don't know what the negative fuss is all about. First Bordeaux, well this probably wasn't the right wine to taste. This wines vineyards are adjacent to Cos d'Estournel and has similar properties to the great CD. Hoever, it certainly is no match. Deep dark rich color to a slightly brick rim. Legs were somewhat light. Nose was filled with terroir, vanilla cream, mocha, espresso, white pepper, some leather, shoe polish, black berries and nice dark fruit. Pepper, dill, dark chocolate, mocha, licorice, vanilla on the palate with mild acidity and tannins. Somewhat astringent on the finish with drying tannins. Truly an interesting wine and at 24.00/btl it is a steal.
