Friday, May 10, 2013 - My second go around with a Gahier wine...the first was the 09 Poulsard which I really liked because of its lite rose' like-ness, as well as all the crunchy minerals/structure, and rusticity. Well....this Trousseau is a little deeper, not as bright...but still very lite for a Red. Starts out reminding me of Burgundy with a little funk show.....a good funk...crunchy raspberry, cherry, strawberry fruit....crisp and tart....TONS of structure with crushed rocks, cherry skin acidity....very appealing flavors of pomegranate, tilled strawberry field, raspberry jolly rancher, dusty dry florals. Again...why I LOVE these wines so much...so lite, not teeth staining, yet loaded with structured feel, rustic, bright floral flavor. Love um young...but do wonder what age would bring to the table.....I need to find that out....for now, pure pleasure!
