Thursday, April 17, 2014 - {Visit to Produttori del Barbaresco} The final wine tasted during our meeting, Aldo watches my reactions to the first taste and, even if he doesn't say it, I know inside he's very proud of this lovely creation (I would not want to play poker against Aldo). Tasted immediately after the '09 Sordo, this is more of everything, yet very well balanced - as all of the PdB wines always are. More balsamic and earthy than the '09, it's also fresher, with tannins that are sweet and incredibly round. The finish is longer, too, but all of this today is just a glimpse into what it's going to be with just 2-3 more years of rest. The final sip really highlights the joyous interplay between the core of sweet fruits and the lively, fresh acidity. highly recommended
