Friday, January 10, 2014 - Decided to give this a try with some stuffed clams. Nose of salt, popcorn, slate and a distinct minerality. Almost Burgundian. The wine had the mouthfeel of a white Bordeaux maybe, with not the heaviness of a oaked Chardonnay or a lightness of a Sauvignon Blanc. Got flavors of pear, slate, tons of mineral but the flavors kind of hit a weird spot in the mid palate but come on strong for a long finish. Very nice acidity and a very unique wine. Worth seeking out and trying.
