Sunday, May 17, 2015 - This is a really outstanding Cali pinot without the characteristics that weaken the breed, so to speak. No Cali pinot fiunk, which I dislike. Clean and sharp with excellent purity of fruit. Good balance. Moderate cherry fruit - neither tart nor sweet but nicely balanced in the middle. I believe the R-M pinots have improved dramatically over the years. I had some bad experiences with the R-M pinots during the middle of the last decade but all of the ones I have had recently were outstanding. Perhaps it was my bad luck. Perhaps TRB is just perfecting his pinot craft to go with his outstanding cabernet craft.
