Monday, April 14, 2008 - Lots of licorice on the nose when first opened - dissipated quickly and became a muted dark cherry. Taste dominated by dark cherry with some leather, oak and earthy flavors in the background. Very supple, almost merlot-like in texture with just a bit of soft tannin. Surprisingly well-balanced. I think it has peaked. Very enjoyable, with a lot of fruit flavor, but lacking in structure and complexity to be great.
