Saturday, August 24, 2013 - I decanted the wine for 1 1/2 hours, poured it back into the bottle and consumed it over two days. It was dark ruby in colour in colour and offered red currant, black currant, dark cherry, oak spice as well as hints of bell pepper and black currant leaves on the sweet and perfumed nose. On the palate the medium-bodied wine showed red currant, blackcurrant, some dark cherry, some spice and a hint of bell pepper, paired with medium-plus acidity, medium-plus tannin and good to very good length of the chewy finish. Enjoyable, but not special, and clearly overpriced to me.
