Friday, December 4, 2015 - Dense with burly dark fruit, but a proper acidity and a tannic bite on the finish keep it all in a lovely balance. There's an earthy character to the burly fruit, but it remains light bodied on some level in that Nuits/Gevrey sort of way. This needed a long time to unfurl and probably should have been aged 3 more years; I was curious how long it should age, as I can never find these in the US, and had a FR friend bring one back to me after falling in love with this wine at a Beaune wine bar. Becky Wasserman selection (still, I believe).
