Monday, March 18, 2013 - My first Austrian red. Pop and pour. A really intriguing wine. An interesting floral and earthy nose and hints of sweetness. The nose might cause you to mistake it for a classic burgundy with at least 10 years under its belt. On the palate a much more acidic profile with lots of interesting semi-ripe red fruit notes and some semi-funky forest soil. Only 12% alcohol, it makes for a great food wine, particularly for those with a jaded palate. If you like Ch. Musar, try this.
