Wednesday, July 8, 2015 - We are far from experts on Chianti Classico wines, but this seemed to be a solid tasty wine for the money. We wanted a sangiovese based wine to go with our red pasta sauce and this worked perfectly. Wish we gave it a decant before serving as it improved significantly over an hour.

Give a Vino Nobile de Montipulciano a try some day. Argiano makes one and another with some guy on it in a Tudor style neck piece. I can't remember the name off hand but you will laugh seeing the outfit the guy is in. It is a good version of Sangiovese for red sauce pasta as well, in that $18-$22 range as well.

Another great but reasonably priced Sangiovese from Tuscan is from Tua Rita, Perlato de Bosco drawing a blank but at $22 per this is a great fruited and structured wine and can cellar a decade as well. Tua Rita makes great wines from so many grapes. A Tuscan favorite, but Chianti always does well with pizza and red sauced pasta.
