Friday, June 22, 2012 - Half-bottle purchased in Beaune. Popped and poured. Light ruby hue. Fresh nose of red berries, cinnamon, anise, a bit of forest floor. Sappy but poised palate of brambly, tart red raspberry and bing cherry fruit coupled with iron filings and enlivened by plenty of fresh acidity. Moderated tannins. Moderately long finish marked by red fruit and minerals. Showing beautifully at this point.
