Tuesday, May 26, 2015 - This puppy has got some character! Pronounced Northern Rhone notes of cracked black pepper and cloves but then also a huge personality of red berry flavours, almost strawberry-yoghurt, a bright red berry profile, but it didn't seem like malo-yoghurt - it really felt like just the character of the wine and terroir and not something winemaking related. I suppose you could call it floral; lillacs, lillies, lavender. Very intense. It doesn't sound that unique in writing, but it really was. This should be easy to identify blind as it really has a character dissimilar to most other wines, even from the Northern Rhone. Then of course a rather tight, youthful structure with present acidity and quite some tannins to let you know that this is Syrah and France. Highly enjoyed this.
