Friday, August 15, 2014 - Popped and poured. This wines from Saint Laurent always seem to drink much better than their price would indicate. The bottle took about an hour to open up and really show well. Initially it was a touch thin. Nose of ripe strawberry, raspberry liqueur, coriander, toffee and espresso. The palate had more ripe strawberry and blueberry notes along with a touch of vanilla. The tannin structure creeps up on you and really hits in the back of the palate before moving back forward to the tip of the tongue. Medium weight mouth feel. The finish tends to be a little too oak centric. Would purchase again.
