Sunday, October 13, 2013 - Gave an afternoon of air in the decanter. Nose is a heady mix of sweet ripe berries, vanilla, smokey caramel, slight damp earthiness and spicy wood. More than one might expect from a Zin blend. On the palate there is a broad darkness of tarry cocoa richness and sturdy tannin balance. A thick mouthful of new age syrupy fruit, candied apple, light espresso and singing high notes echo in the mouth on through a lingering finish. PJG:91
