Saturday, November 6, 2010 - with Yealland & Co after Cafe Anglais, @ Ch. Yealland:
Sensual, earthy and very "Natural"; brooding nose, full of character; subtle spice, hints of incense, dark, enticing and exotic. On the palate, earthy fine tannins with rich dark Cherry Chocolate notes, sweet Pinot fruit - mid-weight rather than blockbuster - classically DRC with uber levels of complexity, but this bottle perhaps not given the respect it deserves; it wasn't well knit and whilst very special, the Dujac 2002 Roche was better on the night. This Richebourg deserves 3 more years and far greater care when it comes to serving!
