Monday, January 20, 2014 - Always a privilege to open a bottle of Romanee-Conti. While I felt a recent 1996 was still closed and relatively unexpressive, this 2000 was very special. While it will undoubtedly continue to evolve for many years to come, it was already very enjoyable. Voluptous, complex, delivate, I might even say the bottle was happy to have been opened! This was an amazing moment... one where time stopped and a mystical feeling took me over. I have felt such emotion thrice only, two with Romanee-Conti (and a third with DRC's 1982 Montrachet). Majestic.
