Tuesday, February 19, 2013 - First vintage of the Malabrigo. The house style is on the modern, extracted side of the spectrum and this wine embodies that. But it carries it well and seemed less obtuse than the regular Cepa 21.

Dense, concentrated fruit with a purple tinge. Unlike the other bottling there's blueberries and blackberries, without the jammy raisiny tone. Wonderfully concentrated, smooth oak influence, and nicely complemented by its spicy and peppery. Tannic and young for sure, but the tannins are fine and quite creamy. It would be fun to taste it again 5 years down the line.
