Tuesday, April 26, 2011 - Two evenings at Gidleigh Park; 4/26/2011-4/27/2011 (Gidleigh Park): Half bottle. Mid gold in colour. A touch volatile on the nose initially but this blows off very quickly to reveal quite a mineral nose with suggestions of old furniture varnish and lanolin both of which follow through to the palate. Intense and mineral attack but all the complexity is up front with little development on the mid-palate and a lighter, less persistent finish. Good acidity. Quite clean and unoxidative for Tondonia and significantly fresher than the 87 GR tasted at the bodega in November. ***1/2
