Saturday, June 21, 2014 - again and again Ridge comes through with another well made unique wine. The Paso Robles greets you on the pop and pour with a ripe red and black raspberry nose with pepper and a touch of roasted meat. As with everything else I've enjoyed from Ridge, a little time in the glass (or a short decant) will reward the patient sipper. The nose opens up allowing some of the subtle oakiness to step forward. This one is a little juicy, but not at all jammy. The tannins are present but smooth lacking most of the astringency found with some of its sister wines. Drink this NOW. Do not wait, it is ready to go. best enjoyed sipping with friends over conversation to allow it to change in the glass over time. will also pair with most red sauce dishes. Cheers!
