90 Points

Thursday, March 7, 2013 - From 75cl, perfect cork. Double decanted and served after 30 minutes. Very ripe and full for a St. Estephe. Lovely (merlot dominated?) cedar-leather-fresh tobacco scent; some very focussed ripe blackcurrant fruit leading a wallop of glycerine on the entry, reminiscent of the chewy cassis-glycerine chewy pastilles I was once given for a sore throat as a child. I'd never have guessed this as the neighbour of Cos (probably I'd have placed it as a solid St. Julien, perhaps Duluc-Ducru, from a warm vintage). Beautifully mature now, serveral years in hand. 90(-91)P
