Sunday, March 3, 2013 - A private lunch (Restaurant Schloss Berg ***, Perl/Nennig, Germany): Very young appearance, hardly any browning; very dominant note of bitter cherries with a touch of almond, hint of vanilla but remarkably little oak influence (24 months on barricas); on the palate very fresh and lively, quite tannic but juicy; good length with nice bright red fruit. A bit of a conundrum - for me at least.
