Wednesday, February 12, 2014 - Moderate plus viscosity and moderate plus concentration to the soft red core that fades to a thick watery rim.
After air time, hot brick aromas meet herbaceous and road tar notes with red fruit as the follow-up aromas. sage, thyme, cherry, currant, wood and dried strawberry.
On the palate this medium bodied red carries moderate+ alcohol, and a bit of warmth from start to finish. The acidity is moderate as are the drying tannins. Complex flavors of cherry, cooked strawberry, currant preserves, sage, thyme, bramble, spice, hot brick and tar. The mid palate intensity is where this wine shines before sailing into the finish which is long and complex letting the flavors linger with a touch of heat.
Should improve with time.
