Saturday, June 13, 2009 - Scary amber color - with time looks more and more like Cognac in the glass. Pretty nose - sous bois, strawberry, and Grand Marnier notes. Lighter-bodied with more delicate flavors reflecting the vintage, but a substantial acidic core to provide enough backbone and vibrancy. A bit of hard tannin that will likely never work itself out. Certainly mature, but drinking surprisingly nicely.
