Tuesday, August 26, 2014 - The color is not bad, and has that light cherry-like hue one would expect from a California Pinot; The color, however, is where the virtues end. Strong strawberry aroma with little else, almost tantamount to sniffing fruit juice. High sugars and unripe fruitiness dominate the front-end of the palate, with strawberries maintaining their dominance over the drinking experience; a mild tannic earthiness makes its presence felt on the finish but fails to save the wine from tasting like one would expect from its price point. I've had worse cheap wines in the under $10 category, but there are many better ones out there too.
