Sunday, September 8, 2013 - This is a wine that really needs a decant before drinking to unfurl its best, a sign that it will certainly reward long term cellaring

A youthful medium red in colour, the nose opens up with blackberries, mulberries and framing french oak inputs.

The wine that is structural, challenging and rewarding. It's certainly not a fruit bomb, nor is it bone jarringly savoury, it manages to find a middle ground that keeps you going back for more.

On entry you get lots of blackberry fruit that has more of an olive aspect on the mid palate, after which tannin and acid structure take over.

The tannins are ripe but show a cocao / graphite aspect that is drying and mouthwatering. The finish is long and savoury, accentuated by black fruits.
