Friday, January 26, 2007 - Promise unfulfilled- Beaucastel & Chave verticals with Jonathan Dinh. (Park Avenue Cafe.): Always a Labrador retriever. Very friendly with its ripe 'n sweet black fruit and low acidity character. There is some Brett here, but nowhere near as much as in vintages before and after it. There are pleasant licorice and spice notes to go along with all that fruit. Not too complex, but a real pleasure to slurp. Solid A-.
