Friday, August 3, 2001 - Tasted in tasting bar at Vintage Wines, Ltd. Bright disc, with medium ruby robe and red rim. This wine needed at least 45 minutes of breathing in the glass to show anything other than mustiness. After the breathing, however, it showed a clean nose, with moderately intense cherry, vanilla and exotic spices. Good acid/tannin balance, medium bodied, with flavors similar to nose. Long, smooth finish. Is nice now but will definitely improve with 2-3 years of bottle ageing.
