Friday, April 17, 2015 - Decanted for 2 hours. Very darkly colored--opaque center tapering to a very thin clear rim. Ripe nose of blackberry jam, roasted sweet spices, smoke and touch of menthol. The flavors reflect the ripeness of the nose but there is good freshness to the black fruit liqueur, and baked berry flavors. Certainly a big boy and a crowd pleaser, it seems a bit awkward tonight with the acidity not really meshing with the fruit. Last sip was the best. Drink soon. Now through 2017.
